Moscow highly appreciates the sincere desire of President of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jinping to develop relations with Russia. This was announced on August 30 by Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with the Chinese Xinhua news agency.

"Russia highly appreciates the sincere desire of the Chinese head of state to comprehensively develop relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation with our country," Putin is quoted as saying on the Kremlin's website.
