On August 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia and China would hold "cross-over" Years of education in 2026-2027.

"In May, the President of [China] and I Xi Jinping agreed that in 2026-2027, our countries will have "crossover" Years of education," he said in an interview for the Chinese Xinhua news agency, published on the Kremlin's website.
