Degtyarev inspected the development of sports infrastructure in Perm

Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee, paid a working visit to Perm on August 29, during which he inspected new infrastructure facilities in the city, including the Energia complex.

"All the planned targets of the Russian Sports state program have been achieved in the region. A multifunctional sports complex of the Energia Stadium has been built. Using the mechanism of public-private partnership, a multifunctional sports center for year-round use and a ski-roller track have been created," he said following a meeting with Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of the Perm Territory.

In addition, the Minister of Sports added that there are 48 TRP centers in the city. He added that Perm also plans to host 16 sporting events, including the All-Russian athletics competitions Perm Marathon and the All-Russian judo competitions of the Dynamo Society.

In addition, Degtyarev thanked the governor of the region and all the activists of the regional program "Coach of our yard", in which qualified instructors receive all the necessary equipment, as well as conduct free classes for everyone. According to him, this project will be used as a basis for distribution throughout the Russian Federation.

One of the places visited by the Minister of Sports was the multifunctional center "Energia", which was opened in 2024. At the moment, it is one of the largest centers of sports life in the entire Kama Region. Degtyarev visited the athletes' training sessions and got acquainted with the work of a specialized gym

At the end of his trip, the Minister of Sports addressed a meeting of the Basketball Development Council held as part of the IX Annual Expobasket 2025 Conference. The key topic of discussion was the Basketball 2030 strategy, which aims to strengthen the country's position in this sport.

"Today, almost 2 million people are engaged in basketball in Russia, about 50 thousand of them have sports titles and ranks. Basketball is included in the program of the state sports strategy until 2030, that is, including through the development of this sport, it is planned to achieve the key figure of 70% of citizens involved in regular sports, which was set by Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin," he said.

Degtyarev visited the Komi Republic on Friday, August 15 and assessed the development of sports infrastructure in the region. During the visit, he held a meeting with the acting head of the region, Rostislav Goldstein. The Minister got acquainted with the development of the regional sports infrastructure and inspected the ski base under construction in Syktyvkar, the Republican Ski Complex named after Raisa Smetanina, as well as a key base for training skiers and biathletes.
