From September 1 to September 30, Moscow will host an application campaign for the Moscow Volunteer award, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.

"Previously, 30 Muscovites were awarded the badge of distinction annually, but now up to 100 people can receive the award. When selecting candidates, experts will take into account the total length of service, the number of hours of volunteer work and the social significance of the projects," Sergunina said.

Starting this year, the badge of distinction will have three degrees. To qualify for the first one, you need to have at least five years of volunteer experience, for the second one — at least three years, and for the third one — at least a year. The final list of applicants will be formed by representatives of the Council on Grants, Charity and Volunteerism of the Moscow Public Chamber.

Non-profit organizations, educational institutions, companies, and government agencies can nominate candidates worthy of encouragement. Documents are accepted at the Mosvolonter resource Center at 5 Leningradsky Prospekt, building 1.

The Moscow Volunteer badge was established in 2022. They were encouraged by 90 citizens who made a great contribution to the development of the volunteer movement. Among those who have already been awarded the award is Maxim Konev, a volunteer with six years of experience. Since 2019, he has participated in the preparation of the Victory Day Parade on Red Square and such actions as the St. George Ribbon, Dictation of Victory, and Candle of Memory. Maria Eremina, a student of the Russian University of Transport, was also awarded the honorary Badge of Distinction. Since 2020, she has been regularly traveling to shelters for homeless animals and collecting food for them.
