More than 110,000 people have been affected by floods in Niger.

Floods in Niger affected more than 110 thousand people. This was reported by ANP on August 28, citing data from the National Committee for Flood Prevention and Elimination (CNPGI).

"As of August 28, 2025, floods affected 551 districts and villages in 95 municipalities, affecting 15,177 households, and the total number of victims was 110,346 people in 8 regions of the country," the article says.

According to the agency, the state has provided assistance to more than 15 thousand households with a total population of 47 thousand people. They were provided with about 650 tons of grain, including corn, rice and millet.

CNPGI is currently developing additional support measures for those left without assistance. In addition, the organization presented an innovative project of houses with increased stability, which will be built on the site of the destroyed ones.

Earlier, on August 21, it was reported that more than 700 people died in floods in Pakistan, which resulted from heavy rains in the country. During the day alone, at least 41 people died in incidents related to the deterioration of weather conditions.
