Moscow Fashion Week has started
Moscow Fashion Week has started in Zaryadye, with the first 13 shows of brands from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Chelyabinsk, as well as from Armenia and Nicaragua. A market has opened in the Parking Gallery art space, where residents and tourists of the capital will be able to purchase clothes, shoes, accessories and cosmetics from 70 Russian brands from different cities until September 2.
The shows of Russian and foreign designers in the Parking Gallery art space, on the Floating Bridge and the Kitaygorodskaya Wall were attended by leading domestic and foreign buyers, journalists from Russian and international media, influencers, bloggers, as well as heads of professional events and specialized organizations from the BRICS+ Fashion Summit participating countries. Among the guests of the evening shows were also noticed the founder of KM20 Olga Karput, stylist Alexey Sukharev, TV presenter Julia Baranovskaya, influencer Maria Chervotkina and many others. The Wibes content space became the information partner of the event. All the highlights from the catwalk and news from behind the scenes can be viewed on the Moscow Fashion Week channel at Wibes.
The domestic brand Masha Andrianova solemnly opened the first day of the Moscow Fashion Week, where it presented a collection called "Istok". The line is inspired by the recordings of the designer's great-grandmothers, which described the mystical beauty of the creative director's ancestral land. The collection combined a simple cut and moderate layering. The main elements of the line are loose maxi dresses, layered sundresses, tunics with a scent or with asymmetrical ties worn over skirts.
A stylish collection at Moscow Fashion Week was presented by a brand from Nicaragua, Joseph Mendoza. The line was named Mocuana and is inspired by the image of the eponymous woman from the legends of Nicaragua. Her appearance could be traced on some products in the form of embroidered portraits and patterns. The collection is divided into several styles: sports chic in the form of hoodies and sweatshirts with vague patterns that are stylized with short skirts, airy dresses with tiered large flounces in the neo-Romantic style, black semi-transparent blouses and dresses combined with ballet tutus and silk shorts.
Kazan brand Alina Vladi played on the contrasts in the new collection. The show began with Rococo tenderness: white tones, flying silhouettes, pearl beads and corset lacing on bomber jackets. Romance was replaced by rebellious grunge: ragged edges, coarse fabrics and chains on the same model form. The founder of the brand, Alina Fomina, vividly demonstrated the duality of the inner world of a modern woman — fragility and strength.
The new Loom Weaving brand collection from Armenia is inspired by the late 1960s and early 1970s. Designer Inga Manukyan drew on the legacy of such iconic figures as Jane Birkin, Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso, and Betty Catroux. Inga Manukyan emphasized the combination of bohemian chic and contrasting knitwear. In one image, there could be a mesh skirt and a fluffy jumper, a mix of turtlenecks with suede skirts and cropped ponchos, knitted bootcut trousers with fitted jackets or tunics made of mesh, a fringe mini with a knitted top.
As part of the Moscow Fashion Week, The Vow brand presented a new collection inspired by the Victorian era and the images of knights and ladies of the 19th century. The main accents of the collection are the high line of the collar, the emphasis on the shoulders and the elongated sleeve, as well as details in the form of metal, eyelets and rings. The color palette is made in restrained and noble shades: beige, white and black.
Lectures on "How digital consumer habits are transforming the fashion industry", "Archive of the Future: why Fashion needs museums, libraries and collaborations", "I buy expensive ties and shower Vera-Violetta": Anton Chekhov's style in World culture", "Trends in the era of metamodern" were held in the lecture hall of Moscow Fashion Week. The speakers were Lyubov Orlova, founder of the FashionTech content marketing and lead generation platform FRWF, Alexandra Kaloshina, founder of the Solstudio Textile Group and the Radical Chic brand, Alina Burmistrova, PhD in Philology, correspondent of the newspaper of the Union of Cinematographers "SK-Novosti" and Elena Baranova, fashion designer, stylist.
As part of the Moscow Fashion Week, a special Wildberries show "Cultural Code" will be held with the participation of 6 Russian designers. The designers have specially developed collections that will be presented at the CMM, in the style of the cultural code of the regions. They will be available for purchase on the platform in the near future in the WB Brands section. As additional support from Wildberries, the designers' collections will appear on banners in outdoor advertising. Wildberries became the general partner of the Moscow Fashion Week.
In parallel with the Moscow Fashion Week, the BRICS+ Fashion Summit international forum is taking place, which is attended by leading fashion industry experts, designers, government officials, fashion entrepreneurs from different countries and many others. Participants and guests of the event can use a personal assistant from the GigaChat neural network, which supports communication in Russian and English. Users can try an AI consultant in the Telegram bot, which helps to create a program for the Summit, taking into account topics of interest and speakers. You can mark the desired session and upon its completion, the assistant sends a notification with the key theses of the speakers. The bot's functionality is already available in Russian and English. The Moscow Fashion Week was strategically supported by the Savings Bank.
