A bus driver who killed a child was sentenced in the Moscow region
A court in Balashikha, Moscow region, sentenced a 62-year-old bus driver who killed a four-year-old boy. The Balashikha City Prosecutor's Office announced this on Friday, August 29.
The tragedy occurred on the evening of March 26, 2025 on Sverdlov Street in Balashikha. It was established that the bus driver had entered an unregulated pedestrian crossing where a woman and her four-year-old son were crossing the roadway. As a result of the collision, the child suffered severe injuries, from which he died in an ambulance.
The court found the bus driver guilty under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules that negligently caused the death of a person." According to the verdict, he will spend the next year and a half in a penal colony.
According to the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, the court also banned him from driving for two and a half years. The verdict has not yet entered into force.
