More than 3 thousand residents of Transbaikalia suffered from tick bites

Since the beginning of the season, more than 3.1 thousand people have suffered from tick bites in the Trans-Baikal Territory. There are 971 children among the injured.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, 45 people, including 23 children, have contacted doctors over the past week. This is twice as much as in the same period of 2024.

Since the beginning of the season, encephalitis has been diagnosed in 40 people, writes ChitaMedia news agency. 58 people were infected with borreliosis. According to laboratory data, 1.4% of ticks had encephalitis, 20.3% had Borreliosis, and 4.1% had ehrlichiosis.

Doctors note that after a pest bite, a person may experience headaches, dizziness, and a rash. Such symptoms may be signs of borreliosis. In severe cases, the disease leads to inflammation of the brain.
