- Vance said the differences between Russia and the United States on Ukraine had been reduced to two issues.
After the negotiations between the United States and Russia with the participation of the special representative of the American president, Steve Witkoff, the list of disagreements on Ukraine was reduced to two points — problems of security guarantees and territorial concessions. This was announced on August 29 by Vice President of the United States Jay Dee Vance.
"Steve Witkoff is an invaluable member of our team. He did not mislead anyone about what the Russians were telling him or what concessions had been made. The results of his negotiations are that we have narrowed down the list of open issues on the conflict in Ukraine to clearly defined ones: security guarantees and territorial concessions," the vice president said.
At the same time, the future of the peace process remains open, Vance added. However, if this happens, the conflict will be resolved only thanks to the efforts of US President Donald Trump and his special representative Witkoff, he believes.
"Maybe we will be able to achieve peace, and maybe not, but if it happens, it will only be because Steve Witkoff and the president of the United States have worked tirelessly, despite outright lies from the mainstream press," Vance said.
