The expert gave advice on checking cars after the summer season

In autumn, the number of calls to car service stations traditionally increases by 20-30%, and most of the problems are related to the consequences of summer car operation. Dmitry Nikolaevich, product manager of the Delta brand, told Izvestia about this on September 1.

The specialist noted that heat, dusty roads and increased loads can lead to serious breakdowns. To avoid costly repairs with the onset of cold weather, car owners are advised to carry out unscheduled diagnostics of key systems.

"First of all, it is necessary to check the battery. High summer temperatures accelerate its aging and it loses its capacity. The problem may appear only with the arrival of frost, when a weak battery will not be able to start the engine," the expert said.

According to him, the cooling system, which runs at its limit in the summer, requires special attention. The specialist recommends checking the coolant level, inspecting the radiator and hoses for leaks, and making sure the fan is working properly.

"The summer heat has a negative effect on the braking system. Frequent stops in traffic jams and overheating reduce the effectiveness of pads and discs, which can be dangerous. It is worth checking their condition and brake fluid level," said Nikolaevich.

In addition, do not forget about the air conditioner, which, after intensive summer operation, often needs to be refueled with refrigerant and the cabin filter replaced. Timely diagnosis of these nodes, as emphasized in the service centers, will help to avoid unforeseen breakdowns and prepare the car for the difficult autumn-winter period.
