A criminal case has been opened in Tula on the fact of a grenade explosion in an apartment building, as a result of which a woman was injured. This was announced on August 29 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Tula region.

"A local resident planted a grenade in the apartment of his friend, as a result of which the detonation injured the woman. She is currently hospitalized," the department's Telegram channel says.

The suspect has been detained. A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder"). Investigators are working on the spot. The circumstances of the emergency are being investigated.

The explosion occurred in one of the apartments of a multi-storey building on Kutuzova Street in Tula earlier on August 29. As a result of the incident, a 23-year-old resident was injured, she was hospitalized with multiple shrapnel wounds to her legs. According to preliminary data from the regional Interior Ministry, a quarrel broke out between a man and his roommate, and he detonated a grenade.
