Philippot revealed the meaning of Von der Leyen's threats against Russia
The threats of the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula Von der Leyen against Russia revealed plans to disrupt the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on August 29 by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot.
"Insane aggression and illegal measures that make peace absolutely impossible. This is an EU program (EU. — Ed.), set out in Ursula's new declaration," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
According to Philippot, everyone understood that "the EU wants a permanent conflict." He added that representatives of European countries plan to "gain military experience, have their own "European army" and drag the continent into complete chaos, from which an oligarchic European state will arise." The politician stressed that French President Emmanuel Macron "faithfully conveys this dirty plan."
Von der Leyen announced on August 17 that the 19th package of EU sanctions against Russia would be ready in early September. According to her, the EU has already begun preparations for new restrictions. The diplomat added that Europe will continue to exert economic pressure on Russia, as well as tighten restrictions.
Later, on August 27, Bloomberg reported that EU countries were considering the possibility of imposing secondary sanctions as part of restrictions against Russia. It is specified that European ministers consider sanctions against Russia's oil, gas and financial sectors as a sphere of new restrictions. Additional restrictions on the export and import of Russian goods are also planned.
In an interview with Izvestia on August 29, MEP Hans Neuhoff said that the EU had largely exhausted the possibilities of sanctions pressure on Russia.
