Russians began spending almost twice as much money on a healthy lifestyle as they did a year earlier. This conclusion was reached by analysts of the <url> financial marketplace, who surveyed 3,000 Russians aged 18 to 65. The results of the Izvestia study were reviewed on August 31.

76% of the respondents noted that they adhere to a healthy lifestyle in one way or another (52% of such respondents were last year). So, 44% noted that they exercise regularly, 36% count calories, 33% take dietary supplements and vitamins at least twice a year, and 23% gave up alcohol and tobacco to feel healthier.

"In 2025, the average monthly expenditure on sports, nutrition and wellness practices amounted to 16,800 rubles, while in 2024 this figure was at 7,200 rubles," the analysts said.

It is noteworthy that last year, people aged 30 to 40 spent the most on attributes related to healthy lifestyle (an average of 18.2 thousand rubles per month), but now the indicator has shifted towards a higher age, as it turned out that residents of Russia aged 50 to 60 years have doubled spending money on sports and specialized meals (an average of 22.8 thousand rubles).

Moreover, this category of respondents was almost three times more likely to use specialized gadgets, including calorie counting applications, activity trackers, smart watches, and more. Respondents under the age of 25 are the least willing to spend on a healthy lifestyle — an average of 8 thousand rubles per month.

"The respondents named the payment of a personal trainer and a gym as the most justified item of "healthy" expenses — on average, they pay 9 thousand rubles per month for this, in second place is the purchase of dietary supplements, which costs Russians an average of 4 thousand rubles per month, and specialized nutrition courses close the top three, for which the respondents pay on average, 2,100 rubles per month," the study noted.

Residents of Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk, who work mainly in the financial and trade fields, spend the most on healthy lifestyle. At the same time, women spend 12% more than men.

"We see that comprehensive health care has ceased to be a niche phenomenon and is becoming the norm, especially among older people. We are registering an interest in personalized solutions: more and more Russians are choosing individual fitness programs, nutritional consultations, as well as digital services that integrate healthy lifestyle into their daily routine. It is logical that this creates new growth points for businesses in a number of segments," concluded the executive Director of Choose.<url>" Yaroslav Badzhurak.

On August 21, Tatiana Meshcheryakova, a nutritionist at Level Kitchen, a nutritionist, and an expert in the field of healthy nutrition, spoke about the permissibility of eating sweets and fast food with a healthy diet. She noted that it is necessary to maintain a balance of nutrients and energy, but to know the measure and take into account the total calorie content.
