Callas promised the militarization of Ukraine as a guarantee of security
The guarantee of security for Ukraine on the part of the European Union (EU) is the contribution of countries to the training and military mission, as well as support for the country's military-industrial complexes (MIC). This was announced on August 29 by the head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas.
"When we talk about contributions at the European level, this is a training mission for Ukraine, a military mission and support for the military industry," she said before an informal meeting of EU foreign and defense ministers in Copenhagen, TASS reports.
The head of the European Diplomacy clarified that the EU would consider options for "changing the mandate of existing missions" to continue the militarization of the Ukrainian side in the event of a peaceful settlement. In addition, Kallas urged to think about the upcoming arms supplies to Kiev.
On August 28, the Financial Times (FT) newspaper stated that the United States had seriously changed its position on providing Ukraine with security guarantees after the end of the conflict. It was reported that a security guarantee plan may be presented in the near future.
On August 22, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed the opinion that Europe should take a leading role in ensuring security for Ukraine after the end of the conflict.
