In Gelendzhik, volunteers took part in extinguishing a forest fire in the Gelendzhik forestry area caused by a night attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on August 29 by the correspondent of Izvestia Yaroslav Bogat.
"The fire area in the forest area near Gelendzhik has already reached over 40 hectares, and now volunteers are gathering to help rescuers and emergency workers extinguish the fire," the correspondent shared.
The footage shows that emergency workers, together with volunteers, load water packages into trucks. It is noted that there is currently no open gorenje. 539 people and 78 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the remnants of the fire.
A fire in a forest area in Gelendzhik after the fall of the wreckage of an APU drone occurred on August 28. According to the head of the resort city, Alexei Bogodistov, no one was injured in the incident. Earlier that day, it was reported that the fire area had reached 41.5 hectares. It was clarified that over the past 24 hours, planes and helicopters of the Southern Aviation Rescue Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia have carried out 14 missions to extinguish fires.
