FSB officers in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) were able to stop the illegal activities of persons who attempted to bribe an official of the security agency. This was announced on August 29 by the FSB's Public Relations Center.
It is specified that three heads of commercial organizations tried to bribe an employee of the department to conceal the facts of embezzlement of money that was allocated for the purpose of landscaping one of the settlements of the republic. In this regard, the specialist notified the management in advance about the illegal actions.
So, the attackers were caught red-handed while handing over a bribe of 1 million rubles.
"Criminal cases have been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 5 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Giving a bribe)," the agency said in a message on its Telegram channel.
Earlier, on August 22, eight people accused of corruption were detained in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk. It was clarified that officials of the transport organization received bribes from commercial organizations and individual entrepreneurs for patronage. Then the total amount of damage amounted to more than 4.3 million rubles. Criminal cases were opened on this fact under Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving large and especially large bribes by officials") and Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Giving large and especially large bribes").
