The Soviet and Russian composer Rodion Shchedrin died at the age of 93. This was announced on August 29 by the press service of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia.

"Tonight, at the age of 93, the greatest genius of our time, the world classic Rodion Konstantinovich Shchedrin, passed away," the message on the VKontakte social network page says.
