The attackers involved a 74-year-old pensioner in a fraudulent scheme to steal 1.5 million rubles from an 86-year-old woman. This was reported on August 29 in the "Ministry of Internal Affairs Media".

The scammers received 600 thousand rubles from an elderly man, allegedly for their declaration, and convinced him that they would return the funds faster if he helped "save" the savings of a pensioner from Nefteyugansk. Then the woman allegedly received a call from the city administration and was informed about the gift, and then introduced himself as law enforcement officers. After convincing her that the accounts were blocked due to fraud, the victim was offered to verify the authenticity of the money by transferring it through a "guarantor", who also turned out to be a deceived pensioner.

It is specified that the man came to Nefteyugansk for this purpose, took a package with 1.5 million rubles from the woman and went to the hotel to wait for instructions. However, law enforcement officers found the pensioner after the woman's appeal, the money was withdrawn and returned to the owner.

"Criminal cases have been initiated into attempted fraud against a woman and fraud committed by a man. The police are identifying the organizers of the scam," the Telegram channel says.

Earlier, on August 20, in St. Petersburg, an 88-year-old pensioner gave 3.1 million rubles to fraudsters, trying to save her savings from a fictional attack by intruders. It was clarified that the woman met with an unknown girl at her apartment in Vasileostrovsky district and handed her money. A criminal case was opened into the incident.
