- Five people were sentenced in Transbaikalia for up to 13 years for terrorist attack and sabotage.
Five Russian citizens were sentenced for committing a terrorist act and attempted sabotage on a mission that meets the interests of Ukraine. This was reported on August 29 in the Office of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Trans-Baikal Territory.
It is specified that one of the attackers entered into correspondence with an unknown person who offered to commit a terrorist act against the Ostrovsky 13 sports club, which is located in Chita, for a monetary reward. To complete the order, the convict attracted his friend, who became his accomplice.
As employees of the regional FSB and the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia found out, they intended to set fire to two more facilities: a base station and a sports club. In addition, the investigation established contacts with three other people who also participated in the preparation of the terrorist attack.
"They were found guilty <...>, with a sentence of imprisonment ranging from seven years to six months and up to 13 years in prison, serving sentences in correctional colonies of general and strict regime, respectively," the statement said.
Currently, as emphasized in the department, the law has not yet entered into force.
On August 28, the press service of the FSB of the Russian Federation for the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) reported that their department's employees had staged a massive terrorist attack on Makeyevka and Dokuchaevsk. This operation, as specified in the statement, was prepared by representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
