The court fined Yandex for not providing the FSB with access to Alice
In Moscow, a magistrate imposed a fine of 10,000 rubles on Yandex due to the failure of the FSB to provide permanent remote access to the smart home system with voice assistant Alice. The information is provided in official court documents on the website of the portal of magistrates of the city of Moscow.
"The court decided to find YANDEX LLC guilty of committing an administrative offense <...> and impose an administrative penalty in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 10 thousand rubles," says the decree, which entered into force on June 27, 2025.
As a result of the proceedings, Yandex was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 19.5 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Failure to comply with a lawful order (resolution, submission, decision) of an authority (official) exercising state supervision (control), municipal control, to eliminate violations of the law").
On August 27, the press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction reported that the Moscow court had brought Twitch and Pinterest to administrative responsibility and fined the companies over 61 million rubles and 10 million rubles. It was clarified that the company was found guilty of failing to fulfill its obligations regarding the activities of foreign persons on the Internet in the territory of the Russian Federation.
