VGTRK operator Sergey Soldatov, who was injured by a mine in the border area of the Kursk region, successfully underwent surgery and is now in the intensive care unit. This was announced on August 28 by Alexander Khinshtein, Acting Governor of the Kursk region.

"VGTRK operator Sergey Soldatov, who was injured in the border region, underwent surgery and was transferred to the intensive care unit. Our doctors have stabilized his condition," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to Khinstein, Sergey will have a second reconstructive operation due to a serious leg injury sustained as a result of the detonation. He is currently under the supervision of specialists from the Kursk Regional Hospital and the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine.

Earlier in the day, Stanislav Bernwald, a correspondent for VGTRK, reported that surgeons had begun to provide assistance to Soldatov. According to him, the injured journalist's condition is serious, but he received timely medical assistance.

On August 28, Khinstein reported that a VGTRK cameraman had hit a mine in the Kursk border area, and the journalist was taken to the hospital.
