On August 28, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski invited the commander of a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to rest in Poland Robert Brovdi, who was found to be involved in the bombing of the Druzhba oil pipeline after Hungary banned his entry.

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced that the Budapest authorities had banned Brovdi from entering the country for his connection with the undermining of Friendship.

"Commander Magyar, if you need a vacation, but Hungary won't let you in, be our guest in Poland," Sikorski said in a message to X (ex. Twitter).

On this day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky promised to respond to the ban on entry to Hungary for the commander of the Ukrainian military unit responsible for the attack on the Druzhba oil pipeline. Zelensky expressed dissatisfaction with Budapest's decision to ban entry to "an ethnic Hungarian and a citizen of Ukraine."
