The area of forest fire near Gelendzhik reached 39 hectares
The area of fires caused by a night attack by a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the territory of the Gelendzhik forestry reached 39 hectares. This was announced on August 28 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
"The fight against the forest fire continues in Gelendzhik. The fire area reached 39 hectares," the agency wrote on its Telegram channel.
It became known that over the past 24 hours, planes and helicopters of the Southern Aviation Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry carried out 14 fire fighting missions, dumping a total of 69 tons of water. Of these, three (36 tons) were dropped by the Be–200ChS aircraft, and eleven (33 tons) by the Mi–8 helicopter.
It is specified that about 273 specialists and 46 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
Earlier in the day, the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev, announced that the fire area in the Gelendzhik forestry had reached 32 hectares. It was clarified that more than 330 people, including volunteers, are fighting the fire.
A fire in a forest area in Gelendzhik after the fall of the wreckage of an APU drone occurred on August 28. According to the head of the resort city, Alexei Bogodistov, a recreation center is being evacuated in Gelendzhik, which is located next to a forest burning due to falling debris from a Ukrainian drone. It was noted that no one was injured as a result of the incident.
