In the Simferopol region of Crimea, between the villages of Ravnopolye and Kolchugino, dry vegetation caught fire. This was announced on Thursday, August 28, by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

"According to preliminary information, the fire area is 70 hectares. Fire and rescue units of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the airmobile group of the Main Directorate, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea, and the administration forces were sent to the scene," the ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that the rapid spread of fire is facilitated by hot, dry and windy weather. Currently, extinguishing, plowing and the creation of mineralized strips are carried out. There is no threat to the settlement. 105 people and 29 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.

On the same day, a fire broke out in a forest area in Gelendzhik after the wreckage of a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) fell. According to the head of the resort city Alexei Bogodistov, a recreation center is being evacuated in Gelendzhik, which is located next to a burning forest. Later, the area of fires caused by a night drone attack on the territory of the Gelendzhik forestry reached 14 hectares.
