On August 28, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that members of the government have no right to adhere to a position that contradicts his own.

He stressed that this is especially true of the situation with the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) company, since, in his opinion, the corporation should work for the benefit of the people, Pashinyan said, answering the question of whether the government would comply with the decision of the Stockholm Arbitration Court, which considered the nationalization of the company illegal.

To the journalist's comment that the government recognizes the binding nature of the arbitration award, Pashinyan responded categorically, saying that no one can contradict him.

"Who expressed (such an opinion. — Ed.)? The one who expressed, let him write a statement and leave. There can be absolutely no such position on my part. I am the government. No one can have a position that contradicts mine. In general, if there are people in the government whose position contradicts mine, let them write statements and leave right now. If not, I will fire them myself," the prime minister said, quoted by Sputnik Armenia.

Earlier, on July 3, the Armenian parliament adopted in the final reading laws allowing the nationalization of the company "Electric Networks of Armenia", which belongs to the detained businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan. The opposition expressed its disagreement, which considers the process illegal.

On July 15, the opposition political parties of the Armenian parliament appealed to the Constitutional Court (CC) demanding that the law on the nationalization of Karapetyan's Electric Grids be declared unconstitutional.

On July 23, Karapetyan defeated the Armenian government in the International Arbitration Court in the case of the nationalization of the "Electric Grids of Armenia", which belonged to him.

Karapetyan's detention became known on June 18. He was charged with calling for the seizure of power in Armenia, after which he was arrested for two months.
