- The military told about the operation of the "Eye" application./Thunderstorm" for communication in the free zone
The fighters of the Center group of forces showed the work of an application for the military, in which you can either write to a colleague or transfer the coordinates of an enemy target. As the commander of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) division of the Center group of forces with the call sign Strepet told Izvestia on August 28, unique developments are being used to establish such a connection.
According to him, the enemy is developing rapidly, and our side must respond promptly and introduce its own countermeasures. So, the electronic application "Eye/Groza allows UAV calculations to interact directly with calculations of mortars, artillery and tanks, as well as quickly transmit coordinates and practice targets.
"The operator has real work with the drone on the screen of his remote control. He watches, sets goals, which appear and are already displayed on my screen. I am already transferring these goals to the calculation," the commander told Izvestia correspondent Dmitry Astrakhan.
The military added that previously it was necessary to use radio communications, which could not operate everywhere in the conditions of electronic warfare (EW) systems. Information can be transmitted much faster now. The commander of the mortar battery control platoon, Second Lieutenant Gennady Dryagin, showed that after a sighting shot, he already sees the exact coordinates and target on the tablet, and even tables of necessary corrections, which he transmits to the calculation of the gun.
"First of all, the image on the map is already coming to you. Secondly, the sight and angle gauge have already been calculated. You just enter the data and use it. You can also correspond in this program," he said.
On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Center group of forces had created a database on the destruction of UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and tested an information processing complex. The commander of the group, Colonel-General Valery Solodchuk, reported to Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov on the fulfillment of combat missions, taking into account the active use of unmanned aircraft. The head of the department estimated that using the shown program accumulates data for artificial intelligence, which will be useful to the military.
