Patrushev spoke about measures to improve the quality of engineering education in universities

Modern educational complexes are being created in Russian universities and advanced teaching methods are being introduced to improve the quality of engineering education. This was announced on August 28 by Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Maritime Board, at the opening ceremony of the dormitory of the St. Petersburg State Maritime Technical University (SPbGMTU, Korabelka).

"A lot more needs to be done to effectively use the created educational and scientific potential at Korabelka. The development of systematic approaches based on them to improve the training of engineering personnel. In this regard, the executive authorities should work more actively to fully implement the decisions taken at our previous meetings," he said.

Patrushev also noted that innovative technologies and educational methods have been developed at St. Petersburg State Technical University, which are being distributed in other universities in Russia.

Korabelka's specialists have also created a practice for implementing online training programs in shipbuilding specialties. Large industrial enterprises are also involved in the training of future industry workers.

"The President of the Russian Federation has expressed gratitude to the staff of St. Petersburg State Maritime Technical University for their services in training highly qualified personnel for shipbuilding enterprises and for their significant contribution to ensuring the defense and security of the state," Patrushev added.

On May 12, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the Russian government had updated the strategy for the development of the domestic shipbuilding industry until 2050. Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, added that the basic scenario for the development of shipbuilding provides for the construction of more than 1.6 thousand civilian ships in Russia by 2036. He stressed that by 2050 it is planned to increase the share of serial vessels produced by Russian enterprises to 80%.
