The Kirovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg has issued a guilty verdict against a children's swimming coach for committing crimes against sexual integrity. This was announced on August 28 by the court's press service on the VKontakte social network.
In March 2024, local media reported on the arrest of a man after his student's allegations of harassment after training and during trips to competitions.
"The man was accused of committing 36 crimes against sexual integrity. The court found that the incriminated acts under each article of the special part of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation are ongoing," the message says.
The coach was found guilty under paragraph "b" of Part 4 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code (other sexual acts using the helpless state of the victim under the age of 14) and paragraph "a" of part 3 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code (other sexual acts using the helpless state of a minor victim).
The court sentenced him to imprisonment for a period of 12 years and 6 months to be served in a high-security penal colony, as well as restrictions on freedom for 1.5 years. In addition, the court imposed on the accused a ban on coaching activities related to minors for a period of 3 years.
Earlier, on February 4, in St. Petersburg, the staff of the criminal investigation department detained a children's coach of a swimming and football school on suspicion of sexual violence against a 12-year-old boy. A criminal case was opened on this fact under Part 2 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Lewd acts").
