The Russian government has written off part of the debt on budget loans to nine regions that have implemented infrastructure projects, totaling about 25.5 billion rubles. This was announced on August 28 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, it is possible in the country to write off two thirds of the debt on budget loans to those territories that were engaged in infrastructure modernization and financed other important tasks, the Prime Minister stressed.

The list of regions includes Bashkiria, Ingushetia, Udmurtia, Khakassia, as well as Astrakhan, Kostroma, Penza, Saratov and Tomsk regions.

"This decision will help ease the debt burden on the budget system of these regions, and will have a positive impact on improving people's quality of life," the Prime Minister stressed.
