State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (GSUESS) On August 27, the Russian Orthodox Church officially recognized that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) is an organization affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).

"The SSUESS has recognized the Kiev Metropolis as an organization whose activities are prohibited in Ukraine," the publication on the SSUESS website says.

It is noted that according to the results of the officials' research, the service allegedly revealed signs of affiliation of the UOC Metropolia with the Russian Orthodox Church, which are in violation of Ukrainian legislation "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations." Thus, measures for a complete ban on the church can be resolved through the courts.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on August 21 that the Ukrainian authorities were pursuing a neo-Nazi policy of exterminating all Russians, as well as discriminating against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which "feeds millions of Ukrainians."
