Mountaineer Rastorguev died in the mountains of Kabardino-Balkaria

Alexander Rastorguev, a mountaineer, died while climbing Dzhangi-Tau Mountain in Kabardino-Balkaria. This was announced on August 27 by the press service of the Russian Mountaineering Federation.

"On August 27, Alexander Rastorguev died while climbing Bezengi <...> on Dzhangi-Tau. According to preliminary information, the sports group, which graduated from the camp on August 25 and started the route on the 27th, was hit by a rockfall," follows from a publication on the Federation's website.

It is specified that two band members, one of whom was injured, were evacuated.

According to the press service, Rastorguev has made over 200 ascents in 40 years of sports activity.
