Tagesspiegel reported the deployment of 200 police officers for the raid in Berlin
In Berlin, 200 police officers took part in a raid against leftist extremists living in a partially residential building at 94 Riegaerstrasse, the Tagesspiegel newspaper reported on August 28.
According to the security forces, the extremists intimidated and threatened the owner of the house so that he would not take any steps against them. In total, 700 police officers are on duty in the city.
However, on the day of the raid, the police did not encounter almost any resistance. During the searches, 15 people were detained, but this figure is not final.
The reason for the searches was several court proceedings in the Berlin Land Court. The reason is the request of the lawyers of the owner of the house in the framework of several eviction lawsuits against illegal tenants.
The court is now demanding more specific information about who the eviction measures will be applied to.
Earlier, on June 8, US President Donald Trump instructed US agencies to stop the riots in Los Angeles. During the week, immigrants held mass protests in the city to suspend deportation operations. In the footage from social networks, officers clear the streets of demonstrators, law enforcement officers push back the protesters, using stun grenades, tear gas and batons.
Mass protests in California began after a police raid searching for illegal migrants, as a result of which 45 people were detained. Violent protests broke out after the raid, escalating into clashes between protesters and ICE officers. Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said on June 8 that the riots were the result of the erroneous policies of former US President Joe Biden.
