On August 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences over the death of journalist Kirill Vyshinsky.

"Kirill Vyshinsky was a courageous, strong-minded man, a brilliant journalist. Working in Kiev as the head of the representative office of the International News Agency Rossiya Segodnya in Ukraine, he honestly fulfilled his professional duty, defended the truth," the Russian president was quoted on the Kremlin's official website.

In addition, the Russian leader called him a true patriot of the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
