A self-defense fighter was killed in the village of Malinovka, Belgorod region, as a result of artillery fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on August 28 by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

"Our self-defense fighter, the commander of the Streletsky-2 battalion, Mikhail Vasilyevich Terekhov, tragically died. His colleagues gave him first aid and took him to the Oktyabrskaya district hospital, but the injuries were too severe," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The governor added that the self-defense fighter will be posthumously presented with a state award.

The day before, Gladkov reported that as a result of an attack by an APU drone on the Belgorod region, one person was killed and one was injured.
