A criminal case has been opened into the beating of the head of the Kamensky district of the Penza region, Alexander Pomogaibo. This was announced on August 28 by the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"On this fact, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Penza region have opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Use of violence against a government official")," the message published on the Telegram channel says.

According to the agency, Pomogaibo was hospitalized with an open traumatic brain injury, concussion, fractured shoulder blade and bruises. According to preliminary information, the reason for the attack was an attempt by the head of the district to convince the suspect to comply with the rules of urban improvement.

The incident became known on August 27. The conflict occurred in the Kamensky district of the region. The man who inflicted the injuries was taken to the police station. Law enforcement officers began checking.
