The Ministry of Industry and Trade has approved the updated parameters of the investment regime for automakers in Russia, they have already entered into force. This was reported by Vedomosti on August 28, citing an interlocutor from the ministry.

The updated parameters have been introduced to maintain a balance that will allow new players who have occupied the factories left by the departed foreign automakers to launch the process of localization of production and its gradual deepening. They are also designed to help increase the workload of developing sites and strengthen the position of Russian-made cars in the domestic market, the note says.

The changes affected the localization assessment scale (the "green scale"), a source in one of the major automakers shared. So, to fully compensate for the recycling of automakers in 2025, it will be enough to score 1,500 points, which is more than half as much as previously estimated. They are charged for each technological operation (for example, welding and painting the body, stamping parts).

At the same time, the threshold for the maximum number of points required under special investment contracts (SPIC) concluded by automakers was lowered from 7,000 to 5,400 points.

The most localized cars in Russia are called Lada Granta, Aurus Senat and Lada Vesta models.
