The foreign ministers of Germany, Britain and France have informed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that they will restore all United Nations Security Council (UN) sanctions against Iran. This was reported on August 28 by the Axios portal, citing sources.

On August 26, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced that the Islamic Republic and the Eurotroika countries had held another round of negotiations on the nuclear issue in Geneva. He added that Tehran continues to insist on finding a mutually beneficial diplomatic solution. Gharibabadi also noted that it is time for European countries to make the right decision and resolve the nuclear issue with Iran through diplomacy.
