On the southwestern Japanese island of Kyushu in the Kirishima mountain range, the Shinmoe volcano spewed ash to a height of 5.5 km. This was reported on August 28 by the NHK TV channel.

"On the morning of the 28th, the Shinmoe volcano erupted in the Kirishima Mountains, located on the border of Kagoshima and Miyazaki prefectures," the report said.

It is specified that this is the first case since July 3, when the height of the smoke exceeded 5 thousand m. An hour later, the volcano spewed another column of smoke to a height of 4.5 km.

The third level of danger has been declared in the region. Residents were advised to be extremely careful and not approach the crater at a distance of about 3 km. This is due to the risk of large volcanic rocks falling.

Two eruptions of Mount Merapi were recorded in western Indonesia on August 27. It was clarified that the volcano spewed ash to a height of 800 m above the crater.
