Meteorologists named regions with heavy rains in autumn

Precipitation above normal is expected in the Irkutsk Region, Tuva, Buryatia, the Trans-Baikal Territory, the south of the Amur Region and the north of Yakutia in September 2025, according to the probabilistic forecast of the Hydrometeorological Center.

Meteorologists also predict that more precipitation will fall in the regions of the Central, Southern and Volga Federal Districts than in 2024.

According to Roman Vilfand, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, the most changeable weather is expected in the Far East in September.

"Heavy precipitation and frequent temperature fluctuations are forecast in Primorsky Krai, Sakhalin and the southern part of Khabarovsk Krai," he said.

The beginning of September will be warm throughout the country, a positive anomaly is predicted, Roman Vilfand said. Only in Chukotka the temperature will be around normal, not higher, he added.

At the same time, according to the expert, short-term rains and thunderstorms are possible in Central Russia and Moscow in early September.
