- In Russia, they want to increase the tax-free amount of financial aid, prizes and gifts
They want to increase the tax-free amount of financial assistance to employees from employers, gifts and prizes from 4 to 10 thousand rubles. As Izvestia found out on August 28, such a bill will soon be submitted to the State Duma by the head of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, Yaroslav Nilov.
"The Tax Code of the Russian Federation provides for exemption from taxation of the following categories: the cost of gifts received by taxpayers from organizations or sole proprietors; the cost of prizes at contests and competitions; the amount of financial assistance provided by employers to their employees; the cost of any winnings and prizes received by participants in gambling or lotteries; the amount of financial assistance to students, graduate students, adjuncts, residents and trainee assistants," the explanatory note says. which turned out to be at the disposal of Izvestia.
According to the document, the limit of 4 thousand rubles for these purposes was set in 2005 and has not been revised since, while accumulated inflation has increased by 150% during this time. In connection with this draft law, it is proposed to take this circumstance into account and increase the maximum non-taxable amount to 10 thousand rubles.
"The amount set by the legislation has not changed for many years. At the same time, we understand that it has already depreciated. 4 thousand in 2005 and today — different amounts of money were committed. Citizens approached me with such a proposal to increase it, so I developed this initiative, " Nilov himself explained to Izvestia the reasons for the development of the bill.
On August 24, Deputy Alexei Govyrin announced that from September 1, the rules in labor legislation and in the field of settlements will change in Russia. He clarified that starting in the fall of 2025, new rules for calculating night shifts will come into force — the minimum surcharge for them will be at least 20% of the hourly tariff rate. It is noted that this innovation will replace the old resolution introduced back in 2007.
