The German magazine Compact presented a silver coin dedicated to Russian President Vladimir Putin. In an interview with Izvestia on August 27, the official representative of the magazine, Andre Poggenburg, explained why the publication made such a decision.

"In Germany, the authorities and state media is militaristic propaganda, Russia and expose evil. This is ideological nonsense," he said.

The Compact representative explained that the decision to issue the coin is related to the intention to symbolically express support for the Russian leader. He noted that the magazine decided not to limit itself to protests and publications, but to give Putin a positive sign.

According to him, the Russian president, as a patriot of his country, is focused on the interests of Russia and acts in the interests of the people. He added that this is exactly the approach that Germany wants.

A coin called "Putin the Patriot" is already available for purchase on the publication's website. Compact stressed that for supporters of the Russian president, he is a beacon of hope, and the coin itself symbolizes victory over the West.

On July 5, Tino Cavalla, co-chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, said that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz should hold talks with Putin. According to her, the dialogue of the leaders can help to come to an agreed solution to the conflict in Ukraine, and this would be an important contribution of Germany to the settlement process.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
