The Houthis launched a missile attack on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.
Yemeni Houthis from the Ansar Allah movement used a hypersonic ballistic missile to strike Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. Yahya Saria, a representative of the rebel armed forces, announced this on August 27.
"The missile forces of the Yemeni armed forces conducted a military operation, attacking the Lod (Ben Gurion) airport with a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile. — Ed.) in the occupied region of Jaffa," he said on the Al Masirah TV channel.
At the same time, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that they had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen. Before that, air raid sirens went off in some parts of the country.
"Air traffic at Ben Gurion International Airport has been temporarily suspended. Air traffic tracking sites have confirmed the termination of incoming and outgoing flights," Al Masirah said.
The previous attack on Ben Gurion airport was carried out by the Hussites from Ansar Allah on August 14. The Palestine-2 ballistic missile was also used for this purpose. It was clarified that the purpose of the operation had been achieved, as a result of which the operation of the airport was suspended.
Political analyst Dmitry Brije told Izvestia on August 25 that Israeli strikes on the Yemeni capital Sanaa could provoke a further escalation of the conflict and involve the United States and its allies. In his opinion, the conflict already goes beyond the Palestinian territory and affects a wider area of the region.
