- Nevsky Prospekt was opened to traffic in St. Petersburg after two weeks of repairs.
The renovation of Nevsky Prospekt has been completed in St. Petersburg. This was announced on August 27 by the governor of the city, Alexander Beglov.
"The main thoroughfare of the city has been renovated from Admiralteysky Prospekt to Vosstaniya Square. In two weeks, more than 70 thousand square meters of the roadway were repaired, and the road structure was reinforced with steel mesh in places of increased load," the Telegram channel says.
It is noted that traffic on Nevsky Prospekt has been fully restored after the completion of pavement repairs on the Kazansky, Zeleny and Anichkov bridges. To speed up the work, a phased repair method with temporary traffic restrictions was used, which significantly reduced the time. About 150 pieces of equipment and 300 specialists were involved in the facilities every day.
Earlier, on July 23, it was reported that the work should be completed within a month — by September 3. The cost of the reconstruction project is estimated at 461 million rubles. The last major renovation of the roadway on the main artery of the city was carried out in 2018.
