The chairman of the Dutch DINK party, Stefan van Baarle, has submitted a motion of no confidence in Prime Minister Dick Schof and his cabinet due to ongoing disagreements over the imposition of harsh measures against Israel. This was reported by Bloomberg on August 27.

"We believe that they should all resign. Ignoring the genocide is a terrible behavior," van Baerle said.

It is noted that all this is due to the resignation of the kingdom's Foreign Minister Kaspar Weldkamp on August 23 after he failed to agree with other members of the government on new measures against Israel due to the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip.

According to the agency, at the moment, there is no idea about the possible procedure for passing a vote of no confidence, since the current government is represented by a minority from the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy and the Farmer-Civil Movement, which has only 32 seats out of 150.

Bloomberg clarifies that the vote of no confidence will be discussed on August 27 during the parliamentary debate, which may drag on until late in the evening. So, if Schof's team nevertheless resigns, then one of the solutions would be to replace the cabinet with high-ranking government officials without party affiliation. However, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands may reject such an offer.

Weldkamp submitted his resignation on August 22. He stated that he could not agree with the rest of the members of the interim cabinet on the adoption of additional sanctions against Israel. Later, on August 23, the King of the Netherlands dismissed members of the government from the New Social Contract (NSC) party who had asked for their resignation, including Weldkamp.
