A Russian pilot single-handedly shot down five drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) that attacked the Leningrad region. This was announced on August 27 by Governor Alexander Drozdenko.
"I shook hands with the pilot who personally destroyed five targets during a massive UAV attack on the Leningrad Region yesterday," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
He also personally expressed his gratitude for the effective work of the sixth Air Defense Army, which protects the skies of the Leningrad region.
On August 26, Drozdenko reported the destruction of 10 UAVs over the region. He noted that the drones were shot down in the sky over the Kingisepp and Luga districts. Later, the governor said that during the repulse of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack, the glazing of three private houses, as well as a car, were damaged.
