Putin and the Russian government assessed the readiness of schools for the start of the school year

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a joint meeting with members of the Russian government, assessed the readiness of schools for the start of the school year. This was announced on August 27 by the Kremlin's press service in its Telegram channel.

Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov noted that from September 1, 17.7 million schoolchildren will sit at their desks, of which 1.5 million are first—graders. According to him, 43 new schools will be opened. Also, 670 schools, 41 kindergartens and 22 colleges will reopen after major repairs.
