The Kremlin highly appreciated the effectiveness of the Russian-US summit in Alaska

Russia highly appreciates the results of the talks held in Alaska between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US Leader Donald Trump. This was announced on August 27 by Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

"[In Alaska] A very meaningful, constructive, useful and necessary conversation took place between our two presidents. We highly appreciate the effectiveness of this conversation. <...> In continuing the work that the Russian side is doing and in continuing the peacekeeping efforts that Trump and members of his administration are undertaking. And we believe that talking about some details in isolation from the general context and in public would hardly be useful for the overall outcome of the case. We believe that the work should continue to be conducted in a non-public format. This is the only way to achieve results," Peskov said at a briefing.
