22 Russian tourists were injured in a car accident in Gagra district, four of them were hospitalized with fractures and bruises. This was announced on August 27 by the head of the State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI). The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia Damey Avidzba.
"22 tourists were taken to Gagra regional hospital after an accident in Gagra district. Four of them, including children who are about 10 years old, needed hospitalization with fractures and bruises, the rest were released home," Avidzba told TASS.
According to the head of the traffic police, the accident occurred on August 26 at the 30th kilometer of the republican highway in the Gagra district at the beginning of the bypass road. The 55-year-old driver misjudged the distance and collided with a minibus carrying tourists during a turn. Both drivers were sober.
On August 7, six Russian tourists were injured in an accident with a minibus in the Turkish province of Karaman. The incident occurred at the intersection of the bus station. The minibus collided with another car and lost control.
