More than half of the German respondents believe that Ukraine needs to give up territories in order to achieve peace as part of the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. This was reported on August 27 by the German newspaper Welt.

According to the newspaper, 52% of German residents responded positively to the question of whether Kiev should be ready to give up part of the territories.

It is clarified that supporters of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party voted the most for territorial concessions — 72%. 48% of the Social Democratic Party of Germany supported the cession of territories. Of the supporters of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU/CSU), 43% spoke about Ukraine's rejection of the territories.

On August 19, US President Donald Trump noted that both the transfer of Crimea to Ukraine and its accession to NATO were impossible. According to the American leader, the rejection of these two conditions will allow the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, to immediately end the conflict with the Russian Federation.
