Sobyanin presented the concept of the Depository and Exhibition Center in TiNAO
The concept of a new Depository and Exhibition Center, which will be built in Kommunarka, has been agreed upon. This was announced on his personal blog by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
According to him, the building meets all functional and architectural requirements. "We managed to create a modern, technically sophisticated, but at the same time balanced and stylish solution," wrote the mayor of Moscow.
The 72,000 square meter building will be divided into three zones. The exhibition space will occupy almost 19 thousand square meters, the outdoor storage area will be more than 21 thousand square meters. Special rooms for the Tretyakov Gallery will occupy more than 10 thousand square meters.
"In fact, these will not be the usual locked rooms, but large exhibition halls where you can come and see what has been hidden from our eyes for decades in classical storerooms," Sobyanin explained. The center is also being equipped with a high-tech restoration center with workshops.
The area around the center will be landscaped, the mayor added. Walking paths and recreation areas with benches will appear next to the building.
